(contd. from top) The resilience of the land lies in a mythical narrative of being cast away as an overcrowded slave depot by its colonial masters, and against all odds, of having risen to hard-earned prosperity, while preserving an open society within a liberal democracy. The notion of a Little Big Country that can face daunting challenges successfully is a powerful story to be invoked as Mauritius redoubles her efforts to curb CNCD and become an exportable model for the world. Beating down CNCD is a challenge worth undertaking, and importantly for the island, its rendezvous with destiny. The motto of our 5-2035 Global Foundation for Community Health (GFCH) is Concordia Res Parvae Crescunt (In Unity, Strength). Our leadership of volunteers are Mauritians and friends of Mauritius from all walks of life, from the 4 corners of the globe. Each one of us have been personally affected by the spectre of CNCD and as private citizens we are committed to come together in strength in a grassroots upswell to help our institutions and our communities curb this preventable public health tragedy.
For the last decade a group of Mauritians and friends of Mauritius have been committed to use our professional expertise and time to build the 5-2035 vision. We think empowering communities to work with the government and content experts in a SEED SCALE (Self-Evaluation for Effective Decision-making + System for Communities to Adapt Learning and Expand) model [1] of community health, driven by community health nurse practitioners (CHNPs) under supervision of community health doctors (CHDrs) will revolutionize health care in the country as a model for the rest of the world. We are determined to have the long-term view to help with the mission.Come join our movement to change the disastrous health picture in Mauritius for our future generations and as an exemplar to the world. Please see the 5-2035 Executive Summary to have an overview of our plan or request the full 76-page 5-2035 White Paper for further details.
If you have any specific questions, please do not hesitate contact us. Our response time may be slow as all of us at the GFCH are volunteers for the 5-2035 mission and have full time commitments. Thank you for your understanding and patience.
